Publishing Models

At IJIREST, we offer two publishing options to accommodate the diverse needs of our authors and their funding institutions:

1. Subscription-Based Publishing
Under this model, published articles are accessible to institutions and individuals who subscribe to IJIREST or opt to purchase specific articles. Authors choosing this route will not incur any publication fees.

2. Open Access Publishing
For authors who wish to maximize the visibility and impact of their research, IJIREST offers a Gold Open Access option. Upon acceptance, authors or their funders pay an Article Processing Charge (APC), making the final published version freely accessible to all readers worldwide.
Authors should ensure that their selected publishing model aligns with their funder and institutional mandates. If immediate open access is required (e.g., under Plan S guidelines), authors should opt for the Gold Open Access route. Our editorial team will guide authors to ensure compliance with necessary requirements.

Advantages of Open Access
Publishing under the Open Access model provides numerous benefits, including:
• Greater Visibility – Open access articles receive wider readership, unrestricted by paywalls.
• Higher Citation Rates – Studies show that open access articles are cited more frequently than those behind subscription barriers.
• Increased Engagement – Open access research attracts broader media and policy attention, extending its influence beyond academia.

Fees and Funding
Authors publishing in IJIREST under the Open Access model will be required to pay an Article Processing Charge (APC). The APC covers editorial processing, peer review management, typesetting, and online hosting services.

• GBP: £200.00
• USD: $200.00
• EUR: €180.00
Taxes may apply depending on local regulations. Authors who select the subscription publishing model will not be required to pay an APC.

Funding Support
We recognize that securing funding for open access publication can be challenging. Authors are encouraged to explore funding options available through their institutions, research grants, and national funding bodies. Many universities have open access agreements that may cover or reduce the APC. To determine eligibility, authors should consult their institutional library or funding office.
